On July 29, 2020, the difficult decision was made to alter re-opening plans for the 2020-2021 school year. With a significant increase in confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our area, many health experts, including the Franklin County Department of Health, have given recommendations to begin the 2020-2021 school year operating online. As a result, Eastland-Fairfield will be moving from our current Plan B instructional model (face-to-face and online learning) to Plan C (all online learning).
Fortunately, the District has planned for this scenario and is ready to make the transition.
- Seniors will begin the school year on August 13, 2020.
- Juniors will begin the school year on August 17, 2020.
We've received a great response from new students and their families in registering for Back-to-School Night (Aug. 11), but in order to implement our safety protocols (social distancing, crowd size, face coverings, etc.) during the event, we cannot safely handle more registrations at this time. The health and safety of everyone is our top priority.
Because of this, we will be closing registration for the Aug. 11 event. Those who registered can still attend. Those who could not register are allowed to schedule appointments. Individual families/students can call either Eastland or Fairfield to make individual appointments to meet with instructors and staff on another date.
As a result of moving to Plan C, the District needs to assess each student’s access to a computer and the Internet. Please complete the Computer Access Survey by CLICKING HERE or call the number below if you do not have a device or Internet access.
