Teaching Professions program earns two national championships
Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools’ Teaching Professions Academy Satellite Program, located at Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools’ Clark Hall, sent students to the recent Educators Rising National Conference at in Orlando, FL. Students competed in nine competitions at the national conference, with six finishes in the top three in the nation and two national championships. 

Students placing in the top 10 included:
  • 1st place:  Lesson Planning STEM- Sophia Easton (Gahanna Lincoln);
  • 1st place: Lesson Planning ARTS- Brandon Karl (Gahanna Lincoln);
  • 2nd place: Lesson Planning STEM- Chloe Callihan (Gahanna Lincoln);
  • 2nd place: Impromptu Teaching- Abby Shupe (Gahanna Lincoln);
  • 2nd place: Exploring Administrative Careers- Makencie Wilson (Whitehall-Yearling);
  • 3rd place: Exploring Support Services Careers- Abigail Alatsis (Gahanna Lincoln);
  • 7th place: Educators Rising Moment- Zoie Amey (Gahanna Lincoln).
Students who took part in presenting at the national conference to more than 50 students and teacher leaders in attendance included:
  •  "Be the One" presented by Chloe Callihan (Gahanna Lincoln), Jayden Solomon (Gahanna Lincoln), Erin Moloney (Gahanna Lincoln), and Dylan Kankiewicz (Gahanna Lincoln);
  •  "Emoting Empathy" presented by Sabrina Hall (Gahanna Lincoln), Alyson Adam (Gahanna Lincoln), Gabby Testa (Teays Valley), and Dakota Seebauer (Gahanna Lincoln).
Educators Rising — powered by PDK International — is a career-technical student organization transforming how America develops aspiring teachers. Starting with high school students, the organization provides passionate young people with hands-on teaching experience, sustain their interest in the profession, and help them cultivate the skills they need to be successful educators. The result is a pipeline of accomplished teachers who are positioned to make a lasting difference — not only in the lives of their students but also in the field of teaching more broadly.
