Multimedia students win six regional BPA championships

Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools’ Multimedia Satellite, located at Pickerington High School North, garnered six regional championships in the Ohio Region 14 Business Professionals of America (BPA) Competition. The Multimedia Satellite will send four teams and 17 students on to the Ohio State BPA Contest. The winners include students from Pickerington North, Hamilton, and Canal Winchester High Schools.

The website design team of Bella Floyd, Nathan Ohrman, Ellie Rider, and Ani Watts claimed first place in their competition, while the video production team of Enrique Cabotage, Matt Ferguson, Julien Martinez (Canal Winchester High School student), Justen Turner won first prize in their competition. The presentation management team of Ian Fisher, Isabelle Lynch, Emily Piekenbrock, and Caroline Rowell took first prize in their competition, while the computer animation team of Anna Glanzman and Caroline Harrington also claimed the top spot. All teams advanced to the Ohio BPA State Competition on March 12, 2020. 

Also advancing to state in individual contests are Kayla Solon (first place, Entrepreneurship), Garrett Cox (second place, Fundamentals of Web Design), and Teddi Heberle (sixth place, Fundamentals of Web Design).

BPA is the leading Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology, and other related career fields. The Ohio Association is the second largest state association within BPA with approximately 7,200 secondary and postsecondary members.
