Students earn 19 medals at regional SkillsUSA contests

Eastland Career Center students recently participated in the SkillsUSA Ohio Regional Contests. After competing in the events, Eastland Career Center’s SkillsUSA chapter won seven competition gold medals, two competition silver medals, and three competition bronze medals. All medal winners now qualify for the SkillsUSA State Contest to take place in April. 

The students who earned medals during the competitions include:
Gold Medal Winners
  • Connor Arnspiger (Pre-Engineering) in Technical Drafting;
  • Donald Cowell (Welding), Cole Emswiler (Welding), Cole Lowe (Welding) in Welding Fabrication Team Contest;
  • Robert Crawford (Welding) in Welding;
  • Kenneth Hughes (Electrical) in Industrial Motor Control;
  • Renaissance Riley (Criminal Justice) in Criminal Justice.
Silver Medal Winners
  • Makayla Harold in Related Technical Math;
  • A’mani Simmons (Graphic Design) in Advertising Design.
Bronze Medal Winners
  • Sierra Coey in Customer Service;
  • Kade Donnelly (Electrical) in Electrical Construction Wiring;
  • Orlando Marsili (Automotive) in Automotive Service Technology.

Fairfield Career Center students recently participated in the SkillsUSA Ohio Regional Contests. After competing in the events, Fairfield Career Center’s SkillsUSA chapter won three competition gold medals, two competition silver medals, and two competition bronze medals. All medal winners now qualify for the SkillsUSA State Contest to take place in April throughout the state. 

The students who earned medals during the competitions include:
Gold Medal Winners
  • Margaret Tuffour (Pharmacy, Canal Winchester) in Medical Math; 
  • Pam Butler (Pre-Nursing, Bloom-Carroll) in Medical Terminology;
  • Jasmine Walls (Cyber Security, Groveport Madison) in Prepared Speech.

Silver Medal Winners

  • Elizabeth Nunez (Pre-Nursing, Reynoldsburg) in Medical Terminology;
  • Kendra Roach (Pre-Nursing, Pickerington North) in First Aid/CPR.

Bronze Medal Winners

  • Roger (Cameron) Holifield (Exercise Science, Bloom-Carroll) in Job Demo Open;
  • Jessica Rapp (Pre-Nursing, Bloom-Carroll) in Nurse Assisting.
