Back to School Information

Welcome to Eastland-Fairfield!

Congratulations! You have made a courageous decision to take a step forward toward achieving your personal educational and professional goals, and our staff cannot be more excited for you. Students, you are about to embark on an experience that you will never forget. Parents/guardians, thank you for supporting your student in their decision and for your trust in Eastland-Fairfield to prepare your child for their future endeavors.

There are a few things that you can do to make sure that you are ready for the upcoming year. Below are a few of those immediate tasks. Over the next few months and as we get closer to the first day of school, we'll communicate to you and your student with updates and additional items that will need to be addressed.

Enjoy the remainder of your school year, and your summer. We can't wait to have you join us in the fall!

Welcome Packets

Each junior, senior, and their parent that will be attending Eastland Career Center and Fairfield Career Center should have received an email with access to their EFCTS Welcome Packet. Parents/Guardians: OneView Portal

What does OneView do?
OneView is the student information database that provides information to all our supporting systems, including medical and parking forms. Your student needs this task accomplished so that both you and your student can access systems like the Canvas student and parent sites, ProgressBook (to monitor grades and attendance), and PaySchools Central (to manage your meal accounts). It also provides the district with updated contact information so that we can keep everybody informed and updated. All students must have their parents/guardians complete these forms before the first day of school. Please make sure that the information for your information is accurate before the start of the school year.

Uniforms

As a student at Eastland-Fairfield, students are required to adhere to the District uniform policy. New in the 2022-23 school year, Eastland-Fairfield spirit wear will be permitted as part of the uniform.

While students are in their program lab, they will be expected to adhere to the required uniform as set forth by their instructor. You may order your lab-appropriate uniform through our partner, Proforma, online at www.EastlandFairfield.com/uniform

NOTE: While your lab uniform is required attire, some labs may allow you to purchase certain elements of your uniform from outside vendors. Please see your uniform reference guide or ask your instructor if this applies to you.

When students are outside of their lab, they may continue to wear their lab uniform OR wear EFCTS spirit wear. Spirit wear may be purchased through our uniform vendor, Proforma, or through additional pop-up shops provided by Eastland-Fairfield, when available.

Be sure to view the uniform fitting guide before placing your order. Fees for uniforms vary by program, but everything you buy is yours to keep and use.

1:1 Technology

New to Eastland-Fairfield for the 2022-23 school year is the introduction of 1:1 technology for our students. We are excited to be able to afford each student the opportunity to have their own Google Chromebook to use at school and at home.

Families must first sign the Eastland-Fairfield Technology 1:1 Chromebook Agreement either online or submit a printed and signed copy during their first day of school. Click here to complete the online agreement.

Chromebooks will be distributed during the first week of classes. A general information/FAQ page has been created to answer any questions, or you may email [email protected].

Transportation

BUS TRANSPORT
If your student needs transportation to or from their career center, please contact your home school transportation department to make arrangements. All busing is handled by the students' home school. Contact information for your school district's transportation department can be found HERE.

STUDENT DRIVERS
Students are welcome to drive their own vehicles to their campus if they chose. All cars parked at Eastland or Fairfield Career Center must be registered. There is no fee for parking.

Students must park, and/or be picked up, in the student parking lot. We ask that cars stay out of the bus lanes in the front of the building. Drivers must follow all driving rules found in the handbook. Students driving to Fairfield will be assigned a personal parking space.

Class Scheduling

Students will work with their counselor at their home school to schedule their classes for the 2022-23 school year. If you have not already scheduled your classes for next fall, please see your school counselor to do so. Check out our curriculum course guide can help you understand what courses are available to Eastland-Fairfield students.

Watch the full Parent Information Night

Back in April, Eastland-Fairfield held a Parent/Guardian Information Session that was helpful to introduce and educate incoming parents about us and our staff. We encourage new parents to watch this presentation in preparation for your student's journey at EFCTS.
