Cyber Security at New Albany

This program will launch during the 2021-2022 school year at New Albany High School! Applications are being accepted now!

Our world has never been more connected, and the demand for securing our networks has never been greater! In partnership with Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools, New Albany High School is now home to a CyberSecurity program. Students will learn how to design and build computer networks, and enhance their security skills to explore and prepare for one of the fastest-growing career fields.

Get a jump start on college with the availability of college credits through Franklin University

This program presents the opportunity of accepting transfer credits towards Franklin University’s Associate and Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security. Franklin will also accept College Credit Plus and Advanced Placement courses offered at New Albany toward associate & bachelor's degree.

This program is a two-year program for grades 11 and 12. It consists of Honors Weighted Courses. These courses include:

Junior Lab:
Networking (145035)
Routing and Switching (145055)

Senior Lab:
Network Security (145050)
Cybersecurity (146005)

The schedule is a two-period block and the learning experience is designed to help students discover how to protect critical network data through a stair-stepped approach. Students begin by exploring local and wide area network design and implementation in order to gain a baseline understanding of networking. This knowledge will then be used as a framework to which network and cybersecurity concepts will then be applied.
