Animal Management

Program Overview

The Animal Management program will train you in the skills necessary to be a vet assistant working side-by-side with professional veterinary team members. Veterinary assistants play a vital role in the daily activities in a veterinary setting. They assist veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians with every aspect of animal care, such as feeding, bathing, and exercising animals; clean and sterilize exam/operating rooms/equipment; administer medications; properly restrain patients for blood/urine collection; perform lab tests; and maintain patient charts. Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared for the Approved Veterinary Assistant exam, sponsored by NAVT.
