Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools student Ti'jaiya Owens has been named a 2026 Jon H. Poteat Scholarship recipient and awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). Owens, a student in the Pre-Nursing program at Fairfield Career Center, was selected in recognition of her dedication to academic excellence, leadership and service.
As a member of NTHS, Owens has consistently demonstrated the organization’s seven core attributes: skill, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship and leadership.
“We are incredibly proud of Ti'jaiya for earning this scholarship,” said Fairfield Career Center Principal Beau Stidham. “She represents the best of Eastland-Fairfield through her commitment to excellence in the classroom, in her career-technical program and in service to others. This recognition is well deserved, and we are excited to see what she accomplishes in the future.”
Since 1984, the National Technical Honor Society has recognized and celebrated excellence in career and technical education, serving high schools, career centers, community and technical colleges, and universities across the country. Each year, NTHS honors more than 68,000 new members and supports students as they build technical and academic skills for future careers.
Through partnerships with student leadership organizations and industry leaders, NTHS has awarded more than $4 million in scholarships to outstanding career and technical education students nationwide.
