Eastland-Fairfield students in red SkillsUSA blazers pose together at the 2025 SkillsUSA National Conference in Atlanta.

Six talented students from Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools (EFCTS) recently represented all three campuses at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference held from June 23-27, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia. The competition was intense, as only first-place state champions are eligible to compete at the national level. Despite the challenge, the students showcased their skills and gained invaluable experience.

The students earned impressive results in their respective competitions:

  • Julia Kramer (Graphic Design '26, Eastland Campus) secured 7th place in Pin Design.

  • Julian Stubbs, Chloe Johnson, and Grace Shay (all Graphic Design '26, Eastland Campus) earned 4th place as a team in Promotional Bulletin Board.

  • Kyle Kougher (HVAC '25, Fairfield Campus) placed 4th in HVAC.

  • Caleb Strawser (Architecture '25, Gahanna Satellite) competed in Architectural Drafting.

Junior competitors have the opportunity to return to nationals next year if they secure a first-place finish at the state level again.

In addition to the competitors, Eastland-Fairfield sent five students to serve as National Voting Delegates. These students, representing the Eastland and Fairfield campuses, played a crucial role in electing the national officer team for the secondary level and voting on key issues impacting Career & Technical Education (CTE) and the future of SkillsUSA nationwide.

The National Voting Delegates were:

  • Maimouna Diallo (Pre-Nursing '26, Fairfield Campus) - Served as the Ohio Lead Voting Delegate and a State Officer for the 2025-2026 term.

  • Lalla Diagana (Pre-Nursing '26, Fairfield Campus)

  • Marieme Ba (Dental Assisting '26, Eastland Campus)

  • Leah Pfeffer (Graphic Design '26, Eastland Campus)

  • Jayce Fischer (Criminal Justice '26, Eastland Campus)

At the conference, Eastland Campus students and their advisor had the chance to meet informally with SkillsUSA Executive Director Chelle Travis. The experience gave students the opportunity to connect directly with a national leader in career-technical education.
