Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technicals Schools welcomed Senator Jon Husted on Friday, September 5, for a visit to the district’s Engineering Technologies Center at Eastland Career Center in Groveport. 

During the visit, Senator Husted met with students and staff, toured our labs, and learned more about Eastland-Fairfield’s hands-on approach to education and workforce development. Students in engineering, welding, electrical, and aviation shared their projects and discussed how the skills they are gaining will prepare them for their future E’s: Employment, Enlistment, Education, and Entrepreneurship.

“We are so grateful for Senator Husted’s continued support of career-technical education in Ohio,” said Shelley Groves, superintendent of Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools. “Visits like this give our students the opportunity to showcase their hard work and highlight the important role programs like ours play in developing the state’s workforce.”

Following the tour, Senator Husted took questions from the media and emphasized the importance of connecting students with high-demand career pathways.

Senator Husted’s visit reinforced the value of these programs in building Ohio’s future workforce and ensuring that every student has a pathway to success.
